The latest leak supports previous rumors claiming that the original Modern Warfare 2 will be heavily influential on this year’s Call of Duty game. Supposedly, content from the unreleased Modern Warfare 2 Remastered multiplayer will be used in Call of Duty 2022 instead, giving nostalgic gamers an arsenal and map lineup that is full of classics alongside new additions. Two of the weapons from 2009’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 that will apparently be returning have been revealed by @TheGhostOfHope....

The content is part of Sony’s unique partnership with Activison, a relationship that has come to be known and the “PlayStation Advantage.” The deal has provided PlayStation fans with extra Call of Duty content since Modern Warfare, and Sony has continued to ramp up the exclusives with Black Ops Cold War, giving players perks such as additional class slots, tier skips, double XP events, weapon XP, free bundles, and the Zombies Onslaught game mode....

Since the arrival of Call of Duty: World at War, CoD games have remained at the top of sales charts during their launch months. According to NPD Director Mat Piscatella, “the last time a Call of Duty game was not the best-selling game of its launch month” was 2007. That year, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare lost out on the top spot due to the release of Guitar Hero 3 (another Activision release)....

This is hardly the first bit of content from the 2019 Modern Warfare reboot that has appeared in Call of Duty Mobile, as the gunfight game mode was added to the mobile FPS a few months back. Since then, the game has seen the addition of other gunfight maps like Pine, and most recently, the 2v2 map King was added to CoD Mobile. If it plays anything like the original Modern Warfare version, however, Hackney Yard is likely to be its own 6v6 map....

The Chinese version of Call of Duty Mobile was announced as available through the game’s Weibo page. Since its launch, Call of Duty Mobile has had over 300 million downloads, not counting the new surge of China’s gaming population. Early reports read that China had over 70 million pre-registrations leading up to the game’s launch, which is sure to give a massive boost to its already large population. In an announcement on September 18th, Activision stated in a blog post that Call of Duty: Mobile would release to Android and iOS on October 1st. Despite these problems, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Zombies has one massive, underappreciated strength: the Chaos storyline. Though splitting the maps between two separate narratives was a poor idea, as it saw all the resources and fresh ideas going to the Chaos storyline, the result was a series of excellent maps that helped the fresh plot get off on the right foot. The characters were interesting, and the use of different mythologies was exciting and different — allowing for things that could not be done in the Aether or Dark Aether stories....
