The blind round went through to his elderly neighbor’s apartment at a low trajectory and narrowly missed the neighbor’s pet dog, which was described by the 75-year-old woman as her best friend. A police sergeant who was called on-scene commented that the situation certainly had the potential for devastating consequences, and used this case to drive home how important it is to responsibly handle all weapons at all times.
The police charged 21-year-old Aaron Curtis with misdemeanor reckless endangerment for the careless handling of his loaded firearm, which he legally owned. All-in-all, both parties are extremely lucky nobody was hurt in the incident, and we can only hope Aaron – and other gaming enthusiasts – take this lesson to heart. According to the Murfreesboro Police Department, Aaron’s on-screen persona was using a weapon similar to the AR15, so one can assume he was feeling particularly inspired by his digital weapon loadout.
