For those unfamiliar with Call of Duty Mobile, it’s basically a “greatest hits” compilation of the most popular maps and modes from Call of Duty’s history. And now the game will include fan favorite Modern Warfare 2 map Rust, which is being teased for a future update. Unfortunately, specific release date information for the Call of Duty Mobile Rust map is unavailable at the time of this writing, but hopefully more details come sooner rather than later.

Rust has enjoyed a resurgence in popularity recently thanks to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The Modern Warfare Season 2 update was headlined by Rust, and the map has been featured in most 24/7 playlists in that game since. Considering Rust’s popularity, it’s likely to be just as big of a hit in Call of Duty Mobile when it releases.

The addition of Rust will just be the latest addition in Call of Duty Mobile’s growing roster of maps, modes, and features. For example, the Call of Duty Mobile Steel Legion update recently launched, giving fans of the game a new Battle Pass along with a variety of content from the Black Ops series.

The Call of Duty Mobile Steel Legion update also added a mode inspired by Modern Warfare’s Gunfight. Like Gunfight, Call of Duty Mobile’s Showdown mode is a 2v2 mode that challenges players to team up with one other teammate to win five rounds in close quarters combat situations.

Moving forward, fans can expect the support for Call of Duty Mobile to continue in earnest. While the standard multiplayer mode will likely remain the main focus of the game, it’s possible that the Call of Duty Mobile Zombies mode will come back, and there’s also a chance that more content could be on the way for the battle royale. Fans of the game will just have to stay tuned to find out for sure.

Call of Duty Mobile is out now for iOS and Android mobile devices.
