For those who have not been following the Call of Duty: Elite issues, Activision promised to give all founder members thirty days free to make up for the month of November. Eligibility for Founder Status has also been extended to the 30th of November.

Once the service is finally up and running, perhaps Beachhead will finally have the time to finish off the PC version of Elite. Activision confirmed that it’s still coming, but they do not have an estimated date, no doubt because they want to iron out the wrinkles in the console versions first.

Surprisingly enough, even with the issues surrounding Elite, it has definitely been a success for Activision. GameStop has announced that they have sold 600 000 subscriptions for Call of Duty: Elite already. The Elite sales also placed in GameStop’s top ten launches for the year 2011. For a DLC subscription, those are some pretty impressive numbers and considering these sales are from just one store chain and do not include digital purchases from PSN/XBLA, it’s probably safe to say that the actual number of Elite subscriptions is much larger.

With over 20 pieces of DLC planned for Modern Warfare 3, Elite is probably worth the purchase for the Call of Duty faithful as they will receive all future add on content as a paying subscriber.

Call of Duty: Elite is available now on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
